Guest Post: DIY With Lizzie

Hello! How are you?

I'm Lizzie from creative lifestyle blog 'Head full of flowers' and today, thanks to the wonderful Debra, I'll be showing you how to whip up a DIY hair mask packed full of wonderful nourishing ingredients perfect for dry, damaged hair and that just so happens to smell exactly like banana milkshake!

You will need:

1 Banana
Rich in potassium, vitamins and anti-oxidants bananas are incredibly moisturising and will leave your hair looking voluminous and healthy by preventing breakage and maintaining hairs natural elasticity.

1/2 Cup of milk
Calcium helps to stimulate hair growth and so adding milk will help to leave your hair feeling soft and nourished.

1 Egg (yolk)
Rich in protein, vitamin A, D and B12 (all of which prevent hair breakage), fatty acids (for shine) and potassium (for dry/damaged hair) egg is my must have ingredient for hair masks.

1 Tbsp olive oil
(can be replaced with coconut oil or 1/2 olive oil-1/2 coconut oil)
Olive oil works as a natural conditioner and so is perfect for dry, damaged hair.

Blend your banana until it is of a very smooth consistency with no chunks, stir in or blend your milk, egg yolk and olive oil.

To use:
Apply mask directly to hair, massaging into scalp and focusing on the ends. Leave on for 10-15 minutes and rinse thoroughly. You can use a shower cap to really lock in the moisture however this is not essential.

And that's it! A quick and easy hair mask that's cheap, effective and will leave your hair looking and smelling amazing!

A big thank you to Debra, it's such a privilege to be here today and I've so enjoyed talking to you all and sharing one of my favourite DIY recipes with you.
